I am a retired Library Media Specialist/Teacher. I earned a Masters of Art in Teaching (MAT) and a Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. I am a member of MASL (Michigan Association of School Librarians), ALA (American Library Association) and BCALA, (Black Caucus of the American Library Association).
I am an avid reader and a lifelong learner. Although I read predominantly African, African American, Caribbean adult, young adult and children’s literature and nonfiction, I have expanded my reading to include Indigenous and Latinx literature. When I’m not reading I sew clothes, knit, make quilts and watch sports games–particularly college basketball, pro football and tennis matches. For exercise, I workout in a gym and roller skate in an indoor skating rink.
My primary interest is books and most of my posts will focus on books. I have expanded my interests to include African diaspora textiles and fashions, fashion sustainability, local and state government.
I enjoyed reading your blog. Are you still posting?
I was very busy last year and did not have time to blog. I plan to resume posting blogs this year.
